Patients truly do count on your knowledge and assistance throughout their course of care. Most often, you are the individual giving patients instructions concerning testing they will be having done or medication they will be taking. They appreciate a familiar face and a smile. Especially patients who come to your office on a regular basis see you as a kind of family member. You are most often the first person they come into contact with in the office, and they look to you for understanding and empathy. They rely on you and look to you first for help in their health care situation. The most interesting experience I have had as a practicing medical assistant is seeing the impact that I make in patients’ lives. I really enjoy experiencing all of these areas of the office, and I definitely never get bored. I work in both the front and back areas of the office.
